SPRING BREAK!!!! Last year Logan and I were lucky enough to spend our Spring Break with my brother at Disneyland. So this year, I really didn't have any plans. We're just not that family who goes somewhere every Spring Break...until now, I guess! My dear friend Julie turned 40 last summer and her very generous mom gave her 3 vacations for her big 4-0. The first was a wine tasting long weekend for just Julie and her husband. And the second was a trip for Julie, her son Charlie, Logan, and myself to go to Indio, CA for a week. WHAT!?!?!?! I was blown away. Logan and I were thrilled to get to spend time with Julie and Charlie and join them on this once in a lifetime adventure. So, today we got up bright and early, or should I say dark and early. We were leaving our house at 3:30 am to meet Julie and Charlie at their house to make it for our 7:00am flight. The boys did great though, even waking up that early. And by getting to the airport early we avoided traffic, got through security in a breeze, had time to pick up some breakfast, and board fairly early. Our flight was great, smooth sailing and the boys didn't even crash until we were all loaded into the rental car and headed to our resort. It was a perfect travel day. We stopped for some lunch on the way (finding what would be a place we visited a few more times during the trip) and still got to the resort a bit early for check in, but they told us to suit up and feel free to use the pool and they would call us when our room was ready. And before you knew it, we got the call. We were on the top floor and had a great view of the resort off our deck. It was a lovely room with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining, living rooms, washer/dryer, and a deck with a bbq. Ummm, yeah, I could get used to this! So after some pool time and getting settled, and leftovers for dinner, we called it a night pretty early as we were all fairly exhausted. It was an awesome start to our vacation.
Ready for take off!
That's one early day...
...we held out as long as we could.
Our new local favorite restaurant.
There were ducks all over the resort who were more than happy to walk right up to you and share your food.
These boys couldn't get in the water fast enough.
The main pool.
After time in the pool, it was time to relax and unwind with some time in the hot tub. Tough life boys, tough life!
