Day Five: Today we were headed out to go spend sometime at LEGOLAND. The boys were SO excited (okay, Julie and I were too!) We were going to be staying at the LEGOLAND Hotel and knew we couldn't check in until about 4:00 and we were about 2 hours away, so we had some time to kill. It was so great to just be able to pack an overnight bag and leave all the rest of our stuff at the resort. After getting everything ready to go, we decided to spend some time in the rec area before heading out. It was great...there were arcade games, air hockey, ping pong, pool, and popcorn! And it was actually good for Logan not to go in the pool today...his poor skin was getting pretty raw. From the hot sun to the endless hours in the chlorinated pool, his skin needed a break. I had mapped our route to LEGOLAND and figured it would take a couple hours. Well, needless to say, I probably picked the most convoluted and craziest road to get us there, but because of that we came across this artist and his sculptures that were simply amazing! And we made it to LEGOLAND in tact! :o) We were actually not going to go to the park until tomorrow, so we had the rest of the day to explore our hotel, and boy was it awesome! I can't say enough good things about this place...it really did feel like an extension of the park. From the characters, to the games, to the endless amazing Lego displays, to the treasure hunt, and the shows, we were overwhelmed and overjoyed!!!
Racing.
Air Hockey.
Pool.
I love how Charlie has one eye closed in this picture.
We were driving on this seemingly nothing road and this statue caught our attention! We had to get out and take a picture which lead us on a little detour of this very cool art gallery.
Logan was absolutely loving all the animals.
We made it...after what felt like FOREVER!
Our room was on the pirate floor...the amount of detail in the décor (this is in the hallway, mind you), was out of this world.
Whenever the doors to the elevator closed dance music would start playing at the lights would flash...it was an elevator dance party!
This huge LEGO ship was in their lobby area with tons of LEGOS to build with and places to play.
I love a company with a good sense of humor...I was quite fond of their sign by this ATM.
One of the many events the hotel had going on that evening was a LEGO building contest. The theme was "ocean". We found out about it a little late, but Logan still wanted to participate, so he very quickly put together this crab. I was so proud of him for getting in the game!
