COD AND La Quinta Mesa 3.30.14

Day Two:  We decided that this morning would be a great morning to check out a local Farmer's Market that our boss had told us about.  So, after a delicious breakfast (thank you Julie) we headed out.  The market is held at a local college about 20 minutes from where we were staying.  We got there about 9:30 and by 10:00 Charlie was ready for a hot dog and Logan was ready for a smoothie.  All the food looked and smelled delicious; I just couldn't eat anything since we had just had breakfast, but Logan did let me try his smoothie and it was so good.  As we were enjoying our snack, a band was playing that this little boy got right in on the action.  It was pretty precious.  After snacks, it was time to look around some more and do some shopping.  Julie and I found this really great kitchen gadget that I can see myself using all the time and we also picked up some fresh fruits and veggies for our stay.  It was a lovely morning and we got out of there just as it was starting to get really hot.  So it was back to the resort for some more pool time and a lazy afternoon.  Then for dinner we headed out of town (about 40 minutes away) to a Mexican restaurant also recommended to us by our boss, and it as well, did not disappoint.  We got outside seating where we got to enjoy the beautiful California evening under the twinkling lights with delicious margaritas, excellent cuisine, and a Mariachi band.  It was a great day with just that perfect blend of being busy and checking out new things and down time to relax.  Ahhhh vacation!

There were a lot of great booths to enjoy.

All the produce looked so good, with unbeatable prices.

Very cool band...check out that guitar.

This was the fountain in front of the Mexican restaurant...so old and beautiful.

Charlie and Julie...look at the size of that margarita!!

Me and Logan (and yes, that's Logan adding even more salt to his tortilla chips.)
It was a lovely evening.
